Joseph F. Cook

Joseph F. Cook is a partner in the firm. He concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration. He testified before the Vermont House and Senate Judiciary Committees, and was instrumental in Vermont’s adoption of the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act in 2015. Joe chaired the subcommittee of the Committee of Rules of Probate Procedure for Probate Court of the Vermont Supreme Court that implemented the Vermont Trust Code.¬†Joe serves on the Vermont Professional Responsibility Board’s Hearing Panel No.2.

Joe serves as president of the Putney Bike Club and as clerk of the Dummerston Selectboard, and served for six years on the Clinical Ethics Committee of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Joe has served as chair of the Brattleboro Union High School Board, and as president of the Connecticut River Valley Estate Planning Council, the Green Mountain Club, and the Holton Home.

Joe is an Eagle Scout who has hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine; bicycled across the United States, from Canada to Mexico, and the length and width of the United Kingdom; skied the entire Catamount Trail; and ran the New York City Marathon.
